A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

If I had money to spend on anything I wanted, I’d take one of those holidays at a “fat farm” where there’s healthy food, exercise classes and hot spa/relaxation with detox treatments! But, just as modern medicine has found that stress relief and well-being stems from laughter and joy, today’s chapter holds a unique detox formula that few people may have thought of.

Paul, a 1st century Jewish teacher recommends that we “rejoice in the Lord always”. [v4] And, apart from gentleness [v5] and eradicating anxiety with simple prayer [v6] so that the peace of God can guard our hearts and minds [v7], Paul gives us an amazing detox formula that uniquely purifies our whole being from the top down:

“…whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.” [v8]

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

Thank-you Lord, that You are the God who hears my prayer and plea that I’m making before You today. [1 Kings 9:3]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Jesus said: “This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” [Matthew 26:28]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one…”

Rescue me, O Lord, from ruthless people. Preserve me from violence of men. [Psalm 140:1]

“ For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory for ever and ever. Amen”
