With the stage set, the Creator did the unthinkable – He cloned Himself…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

The most interesting thing about the start of the Creator God’s Epic Story isn’t that there was light and a measurement of evening and morning for three days before there was a sun, moon or stars – as supernatural as that clearly is! [v3] Even the fact that this “other-worldly” light source (almost certainly outside our solar system) caused a cataclysmic change in the environment that covered the planet, causing the H2O to separate virtually first [v6-8] before it separated horizontally [v9-10]; or even the fact that this light source then caused every kind of seed-bearing vegetation and trees to grow without our current photosynthesis process from a sun [v11-13], still, as fantastic as all that is, it doesn’t catch my attention so much as the truly shocking information that follows…

“Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in Our image, in Our likeness, so that they may rule…’ [v26]

This is the closest thing to our Master Playwright, Father God, cloning Himself then setting Himself loose on the stage that He just created…

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”

I’ll give You thanks with all my heart. I’ll sing praises to You, Lord, before the gods. [Psalm 138:1]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  • The World: Issues you know of around the World
  • Your Country: God’s Will in National and World Affairs
  • Yourself: An eternal perspective
  • Your concerns for today
In my prayers Lord, help me not to see my own good but that of those around me. [1 Corinthians 10:24]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”

As I go about my daily choices, Father God, may I take warning that iniquity turns away the spring rain from the seasons of my life. My sin withholds good from me. Now may I fear You, Lord my God. [Jeremiah 5:24-25]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but delivers us from evil.”

Help me to humble myself before You, Lord God. I seek a safe journey for myself, our little ones, and all our possessions as I set out to travel though this new year. [Ezra 8:21]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”

When Jesus was questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, He always spoke things that were previously written in God’s Word.[b] Following these memory verses from ten topics, will help you learn 52 verses from the bible in a year! THIS WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE: Topic = The Creator God’s Salvation Plan
