Using the example of vegetarian vs. meat lovers, today’s chapter is all about being faithful to the revelation that we’ve been given…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

In a world where the goal-posts keep changing, basic life concepts can be hardest to navigate. So, a huge question out there today is: How can I live by the revelation that my Maker has given to me, and yet rightly advise those I care about – because that revelation is from our mutual Creator?

How can I not judge others on the one hand and yet, on the other hand, not stand condemned before the Creator God by approving of their behaviour: “Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves.” [v22] If I speak out, my voice is seen as judging. But if I keep quiet for the sake of tolerance, acceptance and inclusion, my actions (by default) say that I approve.

Whatever happens, I don’t want to be the one who’s judging. I want to trust that Father God will do His great work in His own time with all those He cares about. [v4] I also need to live in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit [v17], improving and strengthening myself and, where possible, influence those around me. THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in Heaven, how great is Your name! Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…”

Just as it was in ancient times, I want to stand before Your Presence today, Father God, to extol, thank, and praise the Lord, the God of Israel. [1 Chronicles 16:4]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  • Your concerns for today
Thank-You Lord, that for everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” [Matthew 7:8]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us…”

I confess my iniquity before You, Lord God, because I’m troubled by my sin. [Psalm 38:18]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one…”

As I go about my daily choices, Father God, help me to remember that the wise fear You and shun evil, but a fool is hot-headed and yet feels secure. [Proverbs 14:16]

“ For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory for ever and ever. Amen”

When questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, Jesus spoke what was previously written in God’s Word.[d] So, the final section on this page is about memorizing the script through 10 topics. Jesus said: “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or else you’ll be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” [Luke 16:13]
