14 September: A GPS 4 Life

With yet another death plot and a night-time escape, today’s chapter shows how some life stories are a series of “next coordinates” in a harrowing journey…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

One Step at a Time
One Step at a Time

Life can be like a journey of discovery one step at a time. In this way, our Maker can be our GPS – giving the next instruction when it’s time to take that turn. I’d prefer to know more information and well ahead of time. But had I known in 1984 what my journey would include some stories that are in my second book Mysterious? …Expect the Unexpected, I probably wouldn’t have left home at all!

So there’s one thing I can take away from Paul’s bumpy ride in today’s chapter, that Father God holds in His hand our GPS 4 LIFE. From above, He sees what’s around the corner. But like a sort of Google Map for the Invisible world, He knows what I’m capable of, what I can cope with, and what He expects from the LIFE He gave me. Knowing the quickest, shortest, and best way of getting to my fnal destination, my Maker leads me one step at a time over the rough and the smooth in order for me to learn to trust in Him.

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in Heaven, how great is Your name! Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…”

I praise You today Lord, because Your glory covers the heavens and Your praise fills the earth. [Habakkuk 3:3]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  • The world: Pray for Holland[b] and the Netherland Antilles[c]
  • Your nation: The upcoming elections in your country
  • Yourself: Increased trust in Father God’s Plans
  • Your concerns for today
Answer me, Lord, answer me, so that those around will know that You, Lord, are God, and that You are turning hearts back to You again. [1 Kings 18:37]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Help me to submit to You in everything, Father God, for I know that whoever takes the lowly position (like a child) is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. [Matthew 18:4]

4.   Protect: “… Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one…”

You and Your Word are a shelter and shade from the heat of the day for me, Lord. You’re my refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain. [Isaiah 4:6]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory for ever and ever. Amen!”

When questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, Jesus spoke what was previously written in God’s Word.[d] So, the final section on this page is about memorizing the script through 10 topics.
