A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Whatever has happened this year, our life can never be about the past so much as grabbing hold of the future and, most especially, grabbing our destiny with both hands. With the clock ticking towards a unique New Day[a], the point of all these last letters in the Bible, is to get those who have chosen to believe, ready for what’s now upon us.
So in his second letter, Peter charges the Believer solemnly to make every effort to add to your faith [v5] by escaping the corruption of the world caused by evil desires. [v3-4] To be all the more eager to make our calling and election sure [v10] by refreshing our memory [v13] once again this morning, and to claim our destiny:
“We also have the prophetic message (from the past) as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” [v19]

3. Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”
Help me Lord to return to You my God, because my sin has been my downfall! I bring these words with me and return to You saying: “Forgive all my sin and receive me graciously, so that I may offer the fruit of my lips. [Hosea 14:1-2]
4. Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but delivers us from evil.”
Jesus said: “Remain in Me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.” [John 15:4]
“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”
