27 February: A 21st Century Illusion

I’m continually amazed at the accuracy of ancient prophecies for current world affair. If Moses had a crystal ball to see into the future, he couldn’t have been any more exact…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Blue/Black or White/Gold?
Blue/Black or White/Gold?

About three and half thousand years ago, a man died in the Middle East leaving behind a song. But what are the chances of a lady reading those lyrics more than 35 centuries later, then clearly seeing an exact prediction of global events soon to take place? The trouble is, we may be facing a 21st Century illusion – like the optical illusion on the infamous White/Gold or Blue/Black dress, which has sparked a huge online debate.[a] What’s clear to one person and very easy to see (this dress is clearly gold and white in my eyes), is impossible for another person to see.

At the end of his life, the greatest prophet to ever live[b] speaks out a prophecy over the universe [v1] and it’s all about of the rise and fall of humankind. [v5-6] So, what stood out for me in today’s chapter, was a clue hidden in the lyrics that tells us in which generation all this will take place: “Their vine comes from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah.” [v32] What was the fruit of Sodom?[c]  Now measure that visible sign against the significant changes in law that govern two-thirds of our world’s nations in recent years. But here’s the good news and just as it has always done[d], it takes in every nation on earth…

“Rejoice, you nations, with His people, for He will avenge … take vengeance …and will make atonement for His land and His people.” [v43]

If the earth is His and all things in it, then the only question left to be answered is: Do I want to be part of a 21st Century illusion; or will I use what I see with my own eyes, to align myself with my Maker and His Word? …Read More… CLICK on “27 February – Additional Notes”

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”

I’ll proclaim the Name of the Lord and praise Your greatness, O my God! You’re my Rock. Your works are perfect and all Your ways are just. A faithful God, You do no wrong. Upright and just are You. [Deuteronomy 32:3-4]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

Help me to think positively about my distress as it comes in any form, Father God, because I know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; character, hope and hope won’t disappoint. [Romans 5:3-5]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”

May I be one of those who love You, Lord, and hate evil because You guard the lives of Your faithful ones and deliver me from the hand of the wicked. [Psalm 97:10]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”

Thank-you, Lord God, that it’s You who will fight for Your people. I need only to be still. [Exodus 14:14]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”
