A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

In addition to Joel’s prophecy in yesterday’s Breadcrumb: “…and everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved…”[a], Amos foresees a day when the broken places and ruins of Jerusalem will embrace “all the nations that bear God’s Name…” [v12] That so, then today’s chapter shows that the Creator God is thinking globally while acting locally. Our Maker (the One who created the stage on which we live) is doing something behind the scenes and below the surface of this life. It’s stuff that many of us haven’t a clue about, and it’s for a very specific reason. All His ancient predictions (that are freely available for us to read today), give us clues as to whether or not HIStory is simply an historical document about a local situation in a nation of limited importance, or else a global drama that now takes in all nations. If so, then it includes you and it includes me…

Father help me to adopt of lifestyle of walking with you (like Enoch and Noah) where I learn to pray without ceasing. [1 Thessalonians 5:17]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”

When my life’s a mess, Lord, I call out to You for help. I admit that I’ve sinned in thought and word and deed. Sometimes through negligence, sometimes weakness, but most times through my own deliberate fault. Whatever caused my situation You hear my prayer from heaven. Even though I fail, when I turn back to you, you maintain my cause. [1 Kings 8:47-49]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”

Thank-you Lord that all who put their hope in You can be of good courage because You’ll strengthen our heart. [Psalm 31:24]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”
