A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Looking through 21st Century lenses, it’s hard to see how plagues and disasters, that threaten to destroy whole nations, could possibly hold something good from a so-called Good God. An article by the International Business Times, published photos from Portugal that some have dubbed: “The Hand of God”.[a] Photos taken in January 2016 had apparently gone viral within weeks on social media! While meteorologists explain the earth’s atmosphere, climate, and weather behind the images, the bloggers in the below news story say it appears to be God’s hand holding a fireball. This is then interpreted as a sign that the End Times plagues – described in the Book of Revelations and those similar to that experienced by Pharaoh in Ancient Egypt – are again about to begin.

But whether true or not, one thing can be learnt from today’s chapter. Each plague in HIStory, parallels what we now know of the gods of Ancient Egypt. With Egypt in dire straits, this isn’t about a neurotic god wreaking havoc. Each plague is carefully thought through to highlight the futility of belief in created things, while ignoring the Creator who made it all. Read More? …CLICK on “03 February – Additional Notes”
