A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
In the movie trilogy Back to the Future, with Michael J. Fox, there’s a moment in the second movie when Doc wondered if November 5th 1955 was a moment in time that inherently contained some sort of cosmic significance – as if it were the temporal junction point of the entire space-time continuum.
Knowing that the theory of time travel has been a mystery that the most intelligent minds of the last couple of centuries have longed to crack, I’ve often wondered what event they’d go back to witness, once they discovered time travel. If I could guess, I wonder if Jesus’ crucifixion would be high on the list – a moment in time that inherently contains cosmic significance; the permanent junction point of our entire space-time continuum.
Certainly it’s the junction point for the greatest miscarriage of justice ever to be recorded: that someone could be arrested, tried without representation, then crucified in less than 24hrs is already mind-blowing. If that wasn’t utterly “wrong” in every way, the Creator does the impossible. He bridged time and space to fulfil an 800-year-old prophecy in an incredible divine exchange. Clothed in human form Immanuel – God with Us[a] – stepped into history (HIS Story) and was put to death for everything we’ve done wrong![b]

THE LORD’S PRAYER:
1. Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”
Every day I’ll praise You Lord. I want to extol Your name for ever and ever. Great is my Lord and most worthy of praise. His greatness no one can fathom. One generation commends Your works to another, Lord. They’ll tell of Your mighty acts. [Psalm 145:2-4]
2. Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

Your concerns for today
Thank-you for Your ability to answer my prayer, Sovereign Lord. You’ve made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm, so nothing’s too hard for You. You show love to thousands. Great and mighty God, Your name is the Lord Almighty. [Jeremiah 32:17-18]
3. Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”
Lord, You call the wicked to forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. So let me turn to You Lord, and You’ll have mercy on me. If I turn to my God, He’ll freely pardon. [Isaiah 55:7]
4. Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but delivers us from evil.”
Jesus said: “…you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” [John 8:32]
“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”
When Jesus was questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, He always spoke things that were previously written in God’s Word.[g] Following these memory verses from ten topics, will help you learn 52 verses from the bible in a year! THIS WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE: Giving God’s Good News
