A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
With Significance and Achiever as two of my strengths, I can often wonder if I have achieved anything of significance with my life. In search of a hope that won’t disappoint, I can see that every sentence in today’s chapter is a message in itself. So, if I could pick out one Breadcrumb today, the opening sentences stand out for me…
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand…” [v1-2]
More than “manna from heaven”[a] this is liquid gold, like honey on a spoon for me. I can be at peace with my Maker today, because of the hope of access that the Creator God has given to the world. Prophesied about for at least a millennium before today’s chapter took place, then put into effect 2,000 years ago, this now is the only HOPE that will not disappoint me. [v5] Like a portal through which I gain access into the fifth dimension, Father God has provided a gateway: the One who is both the “gate” and the “way”.[b] If I want to justify my short-comings, where else can I go?
