When it’s difficult to know what can heal the world around us, or at least stop it from deteriorating beyond repair, another chapter today about cutting out poison, makes me see why I’m not a doctor…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Our daughter’s stories of what she’s experiencing as a nurse makes me convinced it’s a gifting. To save lives, and to stop a spread of decease, medical staff need to rise above the emotional side of what they’re looking at, in order to take a professional, calculated approach to the damage caused by an ongoing spread, if not decisively stopped.
This makes me wondered about the Creator God’s measures in today’s chapter, to isolate infectious regions and bring measures to eradicate corruption – or at least stop rampant infection from spreading. Then I remembered that He is both Father as well as our Great Physician.[a] He saw His children – those He created in His own image – die as victims of aggressors before His eyes as a result of a willful headlong plunge into unrecoverable “sin”.
Knowing this then, whatever is happening in this epic drama, the Creator of Heaven and Earth wasn’t engaged in ethnic cleansing, or barbaric genocide, of His own image-bearers. Like a sort of untreatable “spiritual Ebola”, the irreversible damage was evidence of rampant life-style choices at the time. To save lives in the long-term, evasive surgical removal had become absolutely necessary. Read More… CLICK on “17 February – Additional Notes”

THE LORD’S PRAYER:
1. Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”
Praise the Lord, all His heavenly hosts, you His servants who do His will. Praise the Lord and all His works they’re seen everywhere in His dominion. [Psalm 103:21-22]
2. Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”
The World: Pray for Anguilla[c] and Antigua & Barbuda[d]
Your Country: Teachers and carers of children
Yourself: Desire to be more like Christ
Your concerns for today
You heard my plea, Lord: “Don’t close Your ears to my cry for relief.” [Lamentations 3:56]
3. Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”
When we pray, Father God, then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Forgive, and deal with everyone according to all they do, since you know their hearts. You alone, Lord, know what’s really inside the human heart. [2 Chronicles 6:30]
4. Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with me and with those I love today. [2 Corinthians 13:14]
“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”
