A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
After waking to finding a Valentine’s card waiting for me on the breakfast table, and a blue sky clearing on this cool February morning, it seemed to herald the start of a lovely day. Then I read today’s chapter. The shocking “crash and burn” moment caused me to shake my head in pity!
Not only does this newly formed nation of people fear the unknown ahead, they actually want to pack their bags and return to “the bad old days”. With the past behind them, they can’t seem to remember how they slaved to build a kingdom only to watch it fade away. The Creator saved them, but now they’ve forgotten where they’d be without Him.
By nature, we’re sight-walkers not faith-walkers and the trouble with patterns of behaviour, is that they get worse in time. This is proven an any relationship breakdown and it’s true in my relationship with my Maker. If I don’t enter freely into what the Creator God has prepared for me here on earth, who’s to say that I’ll not stubbornly refuse to enter into His “promised land” – His Kingdom[a] – in the future?

THE LORD’S PRAYER:
1. Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”
In a loud voice [the angels] were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth; wisdom and strength; honour, glory and praise!” [Revelation 5:12]
2. Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

Your concerns for today
Hear me, Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. [Psalm 86:1]
3. Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”
I thank-you Lord, because You show Yourself loyal to those who are faithful. To the blameless, You show Your complete integrity. To the pure You show Yourself pure. But to the devious or perverted, You show Yourself judicious. [2 Samuel 22:26-27]
4. Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but delivers us from evil.”
Father, I’ve seen for myself what You did to the ancient kings. You have born up Your people on eagles’ wings, and have brought us to Yourself. [Exodus 19:4]
“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”
