A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
I have a terrible habit of pointing out what’s wrong with something. In finance management meetings, my ability to see the pitfalls is an actual asset. But in many more instances in life, encouragement and seeing the positive side is vital for moving forward.
The beauty of encouragement in today’s chapter, enabled the workers to push through persistent and aggressive opposition. [v3-4] First of all, they didn’t try to make their credentials or their current endeavours “squeaky clean”. [v11-12] At the same time though, they were without doubt of the solid ground that they were standing on. [v5,13-16] In addition, they had the best-of-the-best in the group (in their case, royalty, prophets and priests) who rolled up their sleeves to work shoulder-to-shoulder with them. [v1-2] Using their ‘status’, they fed the workers with great encouragement to press forward. Oh how I need to display beauty in encouragement every day, by building up not tearing down!
