A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
August 2nd 2009 was the first time that I spoke publicly about our boy’s departure and the God who gives and takes away.[a] Our son, Michael, had passed away on the morning before. Then, on August 2nd, in front of our shocked church, I told our friends and family that the Creator of Heaven and Earth should still be trusted – even when He does something unexpected and without a reason why. Now well into the second decade since the infamous weekend, the message hasn’t changed…
If I accept my Father God’s words, and store up His commands within me [v1]; if I turn my ear to wisdom and applying my heart to reason [v2]; if I call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding [v3]; if I look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure [v4]; THEN I’ll understand what it means to fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of my God.
