This is the fifth blog in a nine-part series that’s looking at the concept of something ahead of us all that is “Beyond Human Experience”. With the unprecedented population growth in the past 60 years since WWII that the world has never seen before; with seriously depleted natural resources such as fresh water due to global warming; with civil unrest and natural disasters; Hollywood has managed to have ‘a field day’ with new movies to screen in recent years. Our attention is very much caught on the all-important topic of the future of this planet.
But the Creator God has made His own predictions and they aren’t what Hollywood has come up with so far. This blog is Part 2 in a group of three blogs that are covering seven main events that are still yet to come. Although I am not suggesting a chronological order for these events in our future, this blog is now looking at the 4th and 5th main event on the horizon in the Creator God’s Epic Plans for the world that He created.
- The Lord Coming on the Clouds with His holy ones
“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven.”
“And as they were gazing intently into the sky while [Jesus] was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them. They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”
“Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake ...”
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With Justice He judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on His head are many crowns … He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is the Word of God … Coming out of His mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. ‘He will rule them with an iron sceptre.’ He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: King of Kings and Lord of Lords.[i]
- A Season on Earth where the Lord Almighty Rules
“The moon will be dismayed, the sun ashamed; for the Lord Almighty will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before its elders – with great glory.”
“On that day there will be neither sunlight nor cold, frosty darkness. It will be a unique day – a day known only to the Lord … On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it east to the Dead Sea and half of it west to the Mediterranean Sea, in summer and in winter.
The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and His name the only name.
The whole land, south of Jerusalem, will become like the Arabah. But Jerusalem will be raised up high …The wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected – great quantities of gold and silver and clothing …Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, they will have no rain.”
“This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come, and the inhabitants of one city will go to another and say, “Let us go at once to entreat the Lord and seek the Lord Almighty. I myself am going.” And many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the Lord Almighty and to entreat him.’ This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In those days ten people from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, “Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.”[ii]
