29 December: Life’s an Open Book

There’s a saying: “Never judge a book by its cover”, and this scene from John’s vision is about books that won’t be judged by their covers…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

The Books were opened and the court seated
The Books were opened and the court seated

In unfathomable mercy, the Creator God gave two warnings between Daniel, 600+BC[a], and John (60+AD) in today’s Breadcrumb. These warnings were about life being an open book, which will be fairly judged before witnesses in the future. He has then allowed 2,000 years between the “sign” and the “judgement zone”. This gave us plenty of warning to check our actions and get in line with what’s expected. It’s an incredibly generous move on the part of an exceedingly compassionate Father.

It’s now totally up to us what’s written down about us in the Creator’s Book of Life. If we care at all, we’ll not be caught out…Read More? … CLICK to follow “29 December – Additional Notes”

But what about your thoughts – can you tell me what today’s “breadcrumb” is? Leave a note in the “Comments” box below to tell me what you think of today’s chapter.

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

1.   Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”

I will exalt You, my God the King. I’ll praise Your name for ever and ever. [Psalm 145:1]

2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  • The World: World Leaders and the decisions made at the G20
  • Your Country: Social workers and family crisis teams
  • Yourself: Compassion for others
  • Your concerns for today
As for me, Lord, far be it from me that I should sin against You by failing to pray for those around me. Help me to teach others about the way that is good and right. [1 Samuel 12:23]

3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Thank-you Lord that ALL can now be justified freely by Your grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. [Romans 3:24]

4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but delivers us from evil.”

Help me to remember, Father God, that we who hope in the Lord will renew our strength. We’ll soar on wings like eagles. We’ll run and not grow weary. We’ll walk and not be faint. [Isaiah 40:31]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”

When Jesus was questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, He always spoke things that were previously written in God’s Word.[c] Following these memory verses from ten topics, will help you learn 52 verses from the bible in a year! THIS WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE: Topic = The Creator God’s Salvation Plan
