Saying goodbye is never easy. Yet regardless of whether that’s through the death of a loved one; marriage breakup and divorce; redundancy and loss of direction; or even just through moving location under various circumstances; to skip “due process” will only cause problems later.

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
By 2009, I had only experienced close-hand two deaths in my extended family. It was therefore only after our Mikey passed away, that I began to notice the process of death in our Creator God’s “Guidebook for Life on Planet Earth”.
If I allow my imagination to take me back to the day when the Creator God’s family approached their greatest loss in today’s chapter, I’m reminded of my own “desert floor moment”. I remember the circles within the grief process because they have resurfaced during the decades since then. Those moments of denial; the periods of anger; the seasons of depressed apathy; or the sense of detachment, before the eventual spark of life that tentatively returns.
The wheel turns round and although time doesn’t fully heal, the circles get larger as the season of normality between rotations grows longer with time. Whatever the loss and unique circumstances, and however apparently minor compared to other people’s stories, the idea is that with each loop in the grief process, we’re not led down that path to deterioration. 4. Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”
You’ve brought me out from under the yoke of slavery, Lord. You’ve freed me from being a slave. You’ll redeem me with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. [Exodus 6:6]
