A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Today is the 25th day of our twelfth month in our modern calendar. However, in the 1st Century AD on the 25th day of the ninth month in our Hebrew calendar (the month that falls within the modern 12th month), it was the time of the Jewish Festival of Light and Joy, and good tidings of comfort and joy were received.[a]  Those living in the land of the shadow of death, a Light had dawned. The Light of the World was veiled in humanity and came to earth in bodily form.[b]  For the first time in HIStory, heaven’s door was opened and (out of sheer frustration and desperation to get through to us) Father God sent Immanuel, which means: God with Us.[c]

But Christmas doesn’t end there. The greatest gift of all is the invitation to the Christmas feast

“After this I [John] looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, ‘Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.’” [v1]

This chapter from John’s Revelation, encapsulates Christmas again for me this morning. It’s what Christmas is all about – why there was a Christmas in the first place. Today, everyone is invited, but who will come?[d] Read More? … CLICK to follow “25 December – Additional Notes”

I call to you, Lord! Come quickly to me. Hear me when I call to You. [Psalm 141:1]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Lord help me to respect what You’ve said from ancient times: “Look! I am preparing a disaster for you and devising a plan against you. So turn from your evil ways, each one of you, and reform your ways and your actions.” [Jeremiah 18:8]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”

In You Lord alone, is deliverance and strength. All who have raged against You will be put to shame. [Isaiah 45:24]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”

When Jesus was questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, He always spoke things that were previously written in God’s Word.[g] Following these memory verses from ten topics, will help you learn 52 verses from the bible in a year! THIS WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE: Topic = The Creator God’s Salvation Plan
