A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

After being given the everlasting gifts in yesterday’s chapter, today’s chapter takes a slight turn towards what we’ll do after we’ve received them.

We’ll walk with Divinity dressed in white [v4] with permanent residency [v5] just as Adam walked with the Lord in the cool of the day in the Garden of Eden.[a] On us will be written His name, the name of His city as well as a new name given to us. [v12]  We’ll be a permanent and integral part of the support structure that the Creator God has chosen to build for His Presence. [v14]  If all this along with everything said yesterday wasn’t enough, the cherry on top of the Christmas pudding is this one incredible statement:

“To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on His throne.” [v21]

Unbelievably amazing! With new clothes (Christmas just doesn’t seem to be Christmas without new clothes), a new identity and a new and permanent position for me in my Maker’s good graces, I’m totally looking forward to coming home for Christmas! THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”

To Him who is able to keep me from stumbling and to present me before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God my Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ my Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! [Jude 1:24-25]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  • Yourself: Victory over Temptation
  • Your concerns for today
I call on You my God, because You’ll answer me. Turn Your ear to me please and hear my prayer. [Psalm 17:6]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Lord, I want to learn from the past – from people who, after Moses death, became utterly corrupt and turned from the way he commanded them. Help me to take warning that, in days to come, disaster will fall on me if I do evil in the sight of the Lord and arouse His anger by what my hands produce. [Deuteronomy 31:29]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”

Thank-you Lord, that we have a place of strength in which to live. You make salvation its walls and ramparts. [Isaiah 26:1]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”

When Jesus was questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, He always spoke things that were previously written in God’s Word.[d] Following these memory verses from ten topics, will help you learn 52 verses from the bible in a year! THIS WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE: Topic = The Creator God’s Salvation Plan
