A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Today’s chapter addresses the existence of sin and what our relationship is to sin. If Jesus was sent from the Creator God to “purchase and redeem” me, then I’m purchased at a very high price. That so, I’ve two choices: (i) to find the loopholes allowing me access to free benefits, yet still able to carry on as if those benefits have no claim on me; or (ii) I recognize that I belong to a new ‘owner’ with good reason. [v13,16]

If I truly stop to understand the cost that went into having “my debt paid in full by the precious blood that my Jesus spilled”, I wouldn’t be looking for the loopholes found in God’s Grace. [v1,15]  I wouldn’t waste the power of His constructive righteousness, only to allow destructive sin to rule my life again. [v12] The curse of sin has no hold on me…

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in Heaven, how great is Your name! Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…”

May I praise You, Lord, among the nations! I’ll sing the praises of Your name. [Psalm 18:49]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  •      The World:  God’s Grace would be poured out in Oman[b]
  •      Your Nation:  Victims of unsolved crimes
  •      Yourself:  Opportunities to tell friends about God
  •      Your concern for today
In my distress I called to You, Lord. I called out to You, my God, and from Your Dwelling You heard my voice. My cry came to Your ears. [2 Samuel 22:7]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Help me, Father God, to be careful to obey all that’s written in Your Handbook for LIFE, without turning aside to the right or to the left. [Joshua 23:6]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one…”

Help me to fight the good fight of the faith, O Lord. Help me take hold of the eternal life to which I’ve been called when I made my good confession in the presence of many witnesses. [1 Timothy 6:12]

“ For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory for ever and ever. Amen”

When questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, Jesus spoke what was previously written in God’s Word.[c] So, the final section on this page is about memorizing the script through 10 topics. Jesus said: “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or else you’ll be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” [Luke 16:13]
