The Book of Genesis is a book of firsts and today’s chapter shows, for the first time since the Garden of Eden, that the Creator God can make Himself visible and talk to human beings…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Ever since the day when Adam and Eve “hid from the presence of the Lord God”[a], there had never been a time when a human is said to have seen His Presence, until He appeared to Abraham. [v7] This caught my attention and helped me notice in this chapter, several very important puzzle pieces from the Creator’s Complex Plan.
First, the Creator God isn’t a nebulous force like the inside radiation of a galaxy. He has what He identifies as “the presence of the Lord God” that can physically walk – e.g. Adam and Eve “…heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day…” He has a human voice – He spoke to Noah.[b] In today’s chapter, His “Presence” became physical when He appeared and spoke with Abraham. This new phenomenon becomes hugely important later as the role of the physical Presence of God unfolds in the Creator’s Epic Play.
Thank-you Father God, that You have become visible, revealing Yourself and personally making Yourself and Your plans known to humanity. Every paragraph in Your epic storyline holds vital clues to what You’re now unfolding in the world today. Read More? … CLICK to follow “09 January – Additional Notes”
