07 January – A World Divided

With the first curse and the first blessing received after a global meltdown, today’s chapter may hold a vital clue about destiny’s choice…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

No piece of information is trivia in any part of the Creator God’s Epic Play. So it’s “the blessing” that stands out for me: “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem…May God enlarge the territory of Japheth; And let him dwell in the tents of Shem…” [v26-27]

The Complex Family Tree of Humanity
The Complex Family Tree of Humanity

At the very dawn of humanity, as we now have it, could this be a world divided? “These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated (scattered).” [v19]  If so, could it be that Noah prophetically revealed a future division over all of humanity? Those who seem to have a natural Faith in the Creator God, in their DNA… “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem!” A second group (like Japheth) whose territory has expanded over the whole earth yet God allowed them in the front door – to reside within His family of Believers. Those who have chosen to live their lives under the umbrella (tent) blessing of Shem’s God.[a] Or, a group who’ve used the life that they received like Ham – thinking, speaking and behaving without concern.

If this chapter is infinitely more than just a story about a trivia event, then I pray today that more people will choose to take up permanent residency under the roof of this most ancient blessing. Read More? … CLICK to follow “07 January – Additional Notes”

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”

I praise Your Holy Name, Lord, because You have been our dwelling place in all generations. [Psalm 90:1]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  • Your concerns for today
Thank-you Father for being a God who hears my prayer and supplication, which I’ve made before You. You’ve done everything that You promised in history and, from Your dwelling place, Your eyes and Your heart are with Your people perpetually. [1 Kings 9:3]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Lord, I thank You that You’re the God who simply touches my lips, and my iniquity is taken away – my sin forgiven. [Isaiah 6:7]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”

Jesus said: “I Am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” [John 15:5]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”

When questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, Jesus spoke what was previously written in God’s Word.[d] So, the final section on this page is about memorizing the script through 10 topics.
