If you’re thinking of rejecting religion, today’s chapter shows how the current trend in the so-called “Christian West” will spread…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Although written two millenniums ago, today’s chapter gives us a clear prophetic prediction from a first century Jewish scholar, for the future of our world. I wrote about this in Topic 3: Beyond Human Experience on this website. But this 1st century letter has given me three choices today: I can say it’s a great script for the next Sci-Fi movie; I can say it won’t happen in my lifetime and, therefore, ignore it;  or, I can prepare.

If I want the third option (and in the context of both these letters to Believers in the Roman Province of Thessalonica – rejecting religion for a relationship with the One who made me to be like Him), Paul simply tells me to stand firm and hold onto the teachings handed down. [v13-15]

“May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” [v16-17]

Wanting to speak directly with the One who first rejected religion?[a] The rest of this webpage uses Jesus’ own prayer to help…[b]

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in Heaven, how great is Your name! Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…”

Now, my God, I give You thanks, and praise Your glorious Name. [1 Chronicles 29:13]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  • The World: Pray for St Martin[c], St Pierre & Miquelon[d], and St Vincent[e]
  • Your Nation: Pray for good role-models in Parents
  • Yourself: Your spiritual growth
  • Your concerns for today
May I be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer. [Romans 12:12]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Help me not to turn from Your statute, Lord, even if many are the foes who persecute me. [Psalm 119:157]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one…”

When it comes to the road to destruction, Father God, I want to avoid it, not travel on it; turn from it and go on my way. [Proverbs 4:15]

“ For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory for ever and ever. Amen”

When questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, Jesus spoke what was previously written in God’s Word.[f] So, the final section on this page is about memorizing the script through 10 topics. Following these will help you learn 52 portions from the bible in a year! THIS WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE: Topic = Spiritual LIFE

“And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you.” [Romans 8:11]
