06 January: Substantiating a Story

Scientists today wonder what will happen to our planet if it’s hit by a meteorite. Today’s chapter, committed to written record 4000+ years ago, documents the beginning of life after the last global catastrophe…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

When substantiating a story, it’ll be the existence of hard-to-believe detail, numbers, and dates, that points to authenticity. These chapters in my Breadcrumbs this week, reverse the logic of the intelligent lie. The exact number of days that Noah and his family were inside the Ark (even remaining inside almost two months after the waters dried up) and the date on which they came out, points to someone truthfully recounting exactly what happened.

Is This Noah's Ark?
Is This Noah’s Ark in Turkey?

The reason for this level of exact detail however, is not to substantiate a story. The Creator God doesn’t need us to believe Him. Instead, it’s to show us what our Maker is like. He doesn’t do random; everything is significant; each puzzle piece is perfectly connected; and if you care to dig for treasures of darkness and hidden wealth of secret places[a], there’ll always be a serious explanation. If the record is so exact, long before computers and digital filing systems were invented, then the record concerning me will also be exact.[b]

So then, the God who created this planet in the first place, knows every detail of everything that has happened, and will happen, on Earth. That so, I can trust my Maker for the details in my own story…. Read More? … CLICK to follow “06 January – Additional Notes”

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”

For the nations to glorify You for Your mercy, Lord, let me also do as Your Word says: “Therefore I’ll give praise to You among the Nations, And I’ll sing to Your Name.” [Romans 15:9]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  • Your concerns for today
Have regard for my prayer and to my supplication, O Lord my God. Listen to my cry and to the prayer I pray before You today. [1 Kings 8:28]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Help me, Father God, not to stiffen my neck like my forefathers. I want to yield to You, Lord, and enter Your sanctuary which You’ve consecrated forever. May I serve You, O God, that Your burning anger may turn away from me. [2 Chronicles 30:8]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”

As I go about my day, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. [Psalm 19:14]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”

When questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, Jesus spoke what was previously written in God’s Word.[f] So, the final section on this page is about memorizing the script through 10 topics.
