A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

When Life's Little More Than Slavery
Where’s God When Life is Slavery?

One fallacy that’s surfaced in recent years is the idea that God wants us happy or, God wants to bless us. Implicitly, this translates as: “a near-perfect, trouble-free life”. It’s a concept that stems from the fact that the Creator God can move mountains. But Joseph’s story, in today’s chapter, shows me how my Maker most often gives His people grace to climb the mountains.

In my second book Mysterious? …Expect the unexpected… I’d hoped to show the progression of strength that I’ve gained over time, through hearing God in the storm.[a]  My own life experience has shown me that our Maker doesn’t hit us with “the great tribulation” without preparing and strengthening us, through the knocks of life, over time. He does this not just so that we’ll survive, but in order that we’ll eventually leave the wilderness with power. I see the Creator at work in Joseph’s life of slavery, as it goes from bad to worse with no light at all at the end of the tunnel, just as I’ve seen His grace at work inside my own storms…        Read More… CLICK on “20 January – Additional Notes”

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”

My heart is steadfast towards You, Lord. I’ll sing and I’ll sing praises to You even with my soul. [Psalm 108:1]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

Now I pray, let Your eyes be open, O God, and Your ears attentive to my prayers offered in Your presence. [2 Chronicles 6:40]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Help me to repent of this wickedness of mine, Father God. I pray to You that the intention of my heart may be forgiven me. [Acts 8:22]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but delivers us from evil.”

In my behaviour and choices today, help me not to reject  You, the God who delivers me from all my calamities and distresses. [1 Samuel 10:19]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”

When Jesus was questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, He always spoke things that were previously written in God’s Word.[d] Following these memory verses from ten topics, will help you learn 52 verses from the bible in a year!
