Few things in life can be depended upon for precision timing like the world recognition gained by the Swiss for their watches. But what if there’s another clock with a pre-set deadline, affecting the whole earth…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Forty-Five years ago, I sat watching the sun set after becoming privy to the greatest global event that will be unequalled in the history of the world. The idea of being left out, was what caused me to get on board. While I wait, even 4+ decades on, the Creator God’s Epic Play ticks over into the final Act like a Swiss watch in perfect synchronization right down to the day, hour and moment, millenniums later. And the words of this 1st Century Jewish writer catch my attention today…

“…The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of light…” [v11-12]

In preparation for the dawn of the Creator’s great Day of the Lord[a], Paul recommends four things: I should avoid outstanding debt [v8]; live by the basic rule that Jesus reminded us of[b] i.e. to “Love my neighbour as myself” [v9]; behave decently [v13]; and – clothed in Jesus’ righteousness – I shouldn’t indulge my sinful nature. [v14] While there’s time left on my Creator’s watch, I want to make Him proud…

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1. Praise: “Our Father in Heaven, how great is Your name! Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…”

I want to praise You, God, along with all Your servants – those who fear You, both great and small! [Revelation 19:5]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  • Your Nation:  That your nation begins to look up
  • Yourself:  Those you know with cancer
  • Your concerns for today
As I go about my daily choices, Father God, help me to remember today that, whoever oppresses the poor taunts his Maker, but those who are gracious to the needy honour You. [Proverbs 14:31]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Help me not to do my own thing today, Lord. I don’t want to separate myself off from You in my behaviour because in You, Lord my God, do I put my trust. [Psalm 25:1]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one…”

As I stand at the crossroads and look; I want to ask for the ancient paths, and ask where the good way is. Then, Lord, I want to walk in it, so I’ll find rest for my soul. [Jeremiah 6:16]

“ For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory for ever and ever. Amen”

When questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, Jesus spoke what was previously written in God’s Word.[e] So, the final section on this page is about memorizing the script through 10 topics. Following these will help you learn 52 portions from the bible in a year!  THIS WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE: Topic = A Good Caretaker

Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or else you’ll be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” [Luke 16:13]
