A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

When we feel like life’s falling apart (and it certainly felt that way when our lovely son left us in 2009), if we feel like our family is falling apart, or we can’t hold things together, here’s a thought: maybe it’s because we’re missing the cell adhesion – the scaffolding for LIFE as our Maker provided it. [v25-27] In today’s chapter – 2,000 years before DNA and cell adhesion molecules were ever discovered – Paul (a 1st century Jewish teacher) explained what the cross means, not only to humankind but to all things living. [v21-22]  Before we understood the scaffolding and glue, scientifically (the adhesion holding life together), Paul told us:

“…in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him (the One who is the Word of God[a]) and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” [v16-17]
