28 December: Knights in Shining Armour

Like the crescendo to a renowned symphonic masterpiece, today’s portion of John’s vision is a scene from the climax to human history…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

With four days left in the year, organisations, companies, teams and individuals will be looking forward. Good management will include taking a fresh look at the overall strategic plan before dropping down through the tactical level and operational plans for the new year. Strategic Plans, even the unspoken ones, make life work whether we acknowledge the existence of a plan or not.

A Great Leader for Our Future Plan
A Great Leader for Our Future Plan

At first reading, a chapter like Revelation 19 with “knights in shining armour on horseback” may be written off as Greek mythology. But through John’s vision, the Creator God has disclosed His Strategic Plan to those that He created in His own image. It’s a picture in broad strokes, as every Strategic Plan is, and the One leading the project is described and named.

So while I can’t fill in the blanks – because the finer details of how the strategy affects ME is not known – believing in my Maker’s Global MasterPlan requires FAITH. This is no different to any employee who trusts the directors with the future of the company and, therefore, their personal future and livelihood. Without giving us every answer to every single question we have, and without fully understanding everything about what the future holds, Father God simply invites us to join His team, buy into His Plan, then bring our own time, energy, talents and story to His party. THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”

I thank and praise You, Lord God of my ancestors. You’ve given me wisdom and power. You’ve made known to me what I’ve asked from You. And now, through people like Isaiah, Daniel and John, You’ve made known to all of us the “Dream of the King”. [Daniel 2:23]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

Jesus said: “Until now you’ve asked for nothing in My Name; ask and you’ll receive, so that your joy may be made full. [John 16:24]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”

“Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “Return to Me with all your heart, with fasting, weeping and mourning…” [Joel 2:12]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but delivers us from evil.”

In every generation and under any condition, You Lord, give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak. [Isaiah 40:29]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”

When Jesus was questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, He always spoke things that were previously written in God’s Word.[c] Following these memory verses from ten topics, will help you learn 52 verses from the bible in a year! THIS WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE: Topic = The Creator God’s Salvation Plan
