26 March: What’s in a Relationship?

While most of us hate being involved in relationship breakdowns, today’s chapter helps us maintain the most important relationship any of us will ever hope for…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

A young couple newly in-love, engaged, or married, will often be heard saying, “We won’t let anything come between us.” Well, the story of the rich man, in today’s chapter, is all about pinpointing the blockages, and getting rid of them, in our relationship with our Maker. [v17-27]

If there’s anything between me and the One who made me to be like Him, He’ll know about it. He’ll then pinpoint it, whether I believe in Him or not. Seeking the Creator God, and finding Him, may be easy enough[a], after all, His door is open to everyone.[b] But as Lord of all Creation, nothing should be higher on my “agenda” than my relationship with Him. If Love is that answer to: “What’s in a relationship?”, then nothing should be standing in my way, or stopping me from surrendering to that first step i.e. Loving the Lord my God with all my heart, soul, mind and strength.[c] If I can’t get that right, I’ll not be able to make any more steps in my journey towards LIFE with Him…

Wondering how to have a relationship with the One who made you to be like Him? The rest of this webpage uses Jesus’ own prayer to help…[d]

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”

Great and marvellous are Your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are the ways of the King of the nations. Who will not fear You, Lord? Who won’t bring glory to Your Name? You alone are holy and all nations will come to worship before You because Your righteous acts have been revealed. [Revelation 15:3-4]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  • Your Country: Revival among Believers
  • Yourself: Greater compassion for others
  • Your concerns for today
You’ve made the heavens and the earth, Sovereign Lord, by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing’s too hard for You. You also show love to thousands. Great and mighty are You whose Name is the Lord Almighty! [Jeremiah 32:17-18]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”

May I forsake my wicked ways, Father God, and give up my unrighteous thoughts. If I turn to You, You’ll have mercy on me because You are my God, the One who’ll freely pardon me. [Isaiah 55:7]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but delivers us from evil.”

You change times and seasons, Lord. You depose kings and raise up others. You give wisdom to the wise, knowledge to the discerning, and You reveal deep and hidden things. You know what lies in darkness because light dwells with You. [Daniel 2:21-22]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”

When Jesus was questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, He always spoke things that were previously written in God’s Word.[f] Following these memory verses from ten topics, will help you learn 52 verses from the bible in a year!
