With life on Planet Earth both precarious and volatile, today’s chapter is all about taking up the offer of an Infallible Life Assurance Policy…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Working for years in finance, I understand the term “black swan”. No – it isn’t a bird common to Australia. It’s an unpredictable or unforeseen event with extreme consequences. In my role as Area Finance Officer for North Europe (within our charity), my role included predicting and planning systems in such a way that we’re not caught unawares or unprepared.

Reading the first sentences of this chapter, therefore, were powerful enough for me today. We live now on the brink of something incredibly volatile. An event looms with extreme consequences. Having said that, a watertight Life Assurance Policy (that’s completely failsafe), is offered to anyone and everyone no matter what age or background. And, we’ve been given more than ample time to accept it. So, what stood out in the first minute of reading this chapter today, was the question: How shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? Finding it hard to speak freely to the Lord of LIFE? The rest of this webpage uses Jesus’ own prayer to help…[a]

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in Heaven, how great is Your name! Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…”

Who should not fear You, King of the nations? This is what’s outstanding – what we owe You! Among all the wise leaders of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there’s no one like You, Lord! [Jeremiah 10:7]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  • Yourself: Love for your family
  • Your concerns for today
You, O Lord, open Your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. You’re righteous in all Your ways and faithful in all You do. [Psalm 145:16-17]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us…”

I want to choose to do Your will, Father God. If I first choose to begin a lifestyle of heading down that road, then I’ll find out for sure and with full confidence, whether the teachings of Jesus come from You or whether He spoke on His own. [John 7:17]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one…”

Surely the Day is coming, Lord God, when it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the Day that is coming will set them on fire. Not a root or a branch will be left of those who do wrong. [Malachi 4:1]

“ For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory for ever and ever. Amen”

When questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, Jesus spoke what was previously written in God’s Word.[c] So, the final section on this page is about memorizing the script through 10 topics.
