Today’s chapter is about first century communism introduced to the world by the first and greatest “commune-ist”…

Quite incredibly, it was Jesus’ teaching on a system of thinking that brings about a culture or society that is unlike anything the world has ever seen – the first, greatest and purest form of “commune-ism”.[a] Following on from this, Paul reiterates the same conscious awareness and commitment to community in this letter to the Galatian Believers. True Followers of Jesus are into restoration [v1]; carrying one-another’s burdens [v2]; remaining equal if not below others [v3-5]; sharing with those we’ve received from [v6]; working hard with our thinking and behaviour to foster social reform and maintain social control [v7,8], and continual service. [v9,10] Wow – I wonder what our families, societies and governments would look like if we all joined Jesus in expending ourselves as He did for the sake of the world! Finding is hard to speak with the One who made you? The rest of this webpage uses Jesus’ own prayer to help…

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in Heaven, how great is Your name! Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…”

I praise You, God of Creation. Just as Moses prayed, I pray to You, show me Your glory! [Exodus 33:18]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

  • The World: Supernatural healing of post-genocide Rwandans[b]
  • Your Nation: Ministry to International students
  • Yourself: Needs of personal friends
  • Your concerns for today
Incline Your ear, O Lord, and answer me for we are afflicted and needy people. [Psalm 86:1]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us…”

According to the terms which Your people from ancient times have taught us – and according to the verdict that they have told us – Lord, help me to now do it. Help me not to turn aside from Your Word, which has been declare to us – not to the right nor to the left. [Deuteronomy 17:11]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one…”

Thank-you Father for providing us with a Great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God. Help me now to hold fast to our confession. [Hebrews 4:14]

“ For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory for ever and ever. Amen”

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever! Amen. [2 Peter 3:18]
