12 April: Reincarnation vs New Birth

While the notion of reincarnation had been around from early times, today’s chapter from the 1st Century AD throws a complete “spanner in the works” of all previous theories…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

If a belief in reincarnation, or in new birth, will both require “faith”, what’s faith? And how can one make a choice between what’s on offer?

Well, some say that faith is believing in spite of nothing tangible to trust in. Others say that faith is believing regardless of the lack of evidence – or, evidence to the contrary. But “faith”, according to the Creator God, is believing what He’s revealed in history (HIS story), entrusting oneself to your Maker, and acting accordingly.

This is the kind of faith that Jesus was looking for in Nicodemus, a 1st Century Lawyer and Religious Leader. [v10] Through Jesus’ one perfect sacrifice [v36], the price is paid! Our Maker overrides all systems with an incredible “get out of jail free” card called Forgiveness. He’s freely offered humanity New Birth [v3,6&8] and Eternal LIFE by His grace = God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.

I pray Lord, that I and those I care for most will enjoy good health and that all may go well with us, even as our souls are getting along well. [3 John 1:2]
  1. Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”
Who is a god like You, Lord? You pardon sin and You forgive the transgression of Your people. You don’t stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. [Micah 7:18]
  1. Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but delivers us from evil.”
You, Father God, are upright. You’re my Rock, and there’s no wickedness in You. [Psalm 92:15]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”
