A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Mark and I will be forever grateful for the last two days of our son’s life, and the memories that we now have of our last hours with him.
Quite miraculously (2,000 years after it was written), we also have an extensive record of the last days of a unknown, unemployed carpenter, from a back-water Roman province, who was also about to die. This record of the final countdown for Jesus includes an amazing moment with an alabaster jar, that’s still talked about – and sung about – today just as Jesus predicted it would be. [v3-9] His three closest friends couldn’t stay awake to keep vigil with Him in prayer [v32-42] – the significance of which dates back 15 centuries prior to that Passover night.[a] It even records the words of private conversations around a fire pit. [v66-72]
Like our Michael, Jesus didn’t die of sickness, accident, or a crime He’d committed. But unlike anyone else, He’s perhaps the only one to be arrested, tried and sentence to death within a single evening, just for being Himself.[b] Faith is: knowing for certain who He really is…

I trust You, Lord God, that it’s You who goes before me and will be with me. You’ll never leave me nor forsake me, so I don’t need to be afraid or discouraged. [Deuteronomy 31:8]
3. Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”
Thank-you, Father God, for telling me that You’re the One who wipes out all my transgressions for Your own sake, and You’ll not remember my sins. [Isaiah 43:25]
4. Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but delivers us from evil.”
Jesus said: “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” [John 14:27]
“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”
