Trudging through knee-deep mud going from one disappointment to another, can cause one to wonder why we should bother at all with pursuing a relationship with an apparently distant Creator God. But today’s chapter shows who my Maker is – for me…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Today is the day my closest friend passed from this life because of brain tumours. She was the closest I had come to having a sister here in the UK. She hadn’t yet reached 45. And so it was with a heavy heart on a grey February morning, that I wrote this post while contemplating the frequently asked question: “Why bother at all with God?”
Well… the plan that Linda had taken is the one I’ve adopted: to follow our Maker’s “Guidebook for Life” so that I’ll reach my destiny. With that said, today’s chapter shows me several reasons why I would bother with following the Creator God’s lead:
For one thing, I’ll be able to go in (as my Linda has done, and as our son, Michael, had done before her) to take possession of “the kingdom” that the God of my ancestors is giving to me. [v1] I don’t want to compromise by adding to His Plan or subtracting from it [v2], because whoever holds fast to the Lord[a] as He really is, will LIVE. [v4] If I don’t learn from His Book of Life now, or learn how to follow His instruction now, I won’t know how to follow them in His Eternal Kingdom that I’m entering into to take possession of. [v5] By observing His ways carefully, will also show wisdom and understanding to the nations who will hear about all God’s righteous decrees through what I’m sharing with you here. But what about your thoughts – can you tell me what today’s “breadcrumb” is? Leave a note in the “Comments” box below to tell me what you think of today’s chapter.
