If you’re wondering what the world’s greatest Christmas Gift is, look no further…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
As the Feast of Light and Joy draws closer, you may be wondering what gift in history has been received by the greatest number of people. Well, this first century writer and close friend of Jesus gave us a clue when he wrote this letter, and – fitting perfectly into the season of Christmas and Hanukkah – it’s all about both joy and light…
“…These things we write, so that your joy may be made complete …God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness (deception), we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light, as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another…” [v5-7]
Now that sounds great but what’s that got to do with the greatest Christmas Gift ever?
The treasure that’s been packaged into these incredible words comes from Father God to His children – the people He created in His own image. It should be shouted from the mountain tops! It should be sung about on the street corners! It should be more widely shared because it’s indiscriminate, once and for all, Global Forgiveness. [v8-9] …Brilliant!!!

THE LORD’S PRAYER:
1. Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth! Yours is the dominion, O Lord, You exalt Yourself (and I exalt You) as head over all! [1 Chronicles 29:11]
2. Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”
The World: The people of Uzbekistan[b]
Your Country: The homeless and poor
Yourself: Strength for obedience
Your concerns for today
You who are loved by your Maker, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers in Him. [3 John 1:2]
3. Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”
Bless the Lord, O my soul! I’ll forget none of Your benefits – You who pardons all my iniquities, and heals all our diseases! [Psalm 103:2-3]
4. Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but delivers us from evil.”
Thank You, Sovereign Lord, for promising that I’ll go out with joy and be led forth with peace. The mountains and the hills will break into shouts of joy before me, while all the trees of the field will clap their hands! [Isaiah 55:12]
“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”
