A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
It’s been eight years since our only son passed away suddenly, unexpectedly, and without a medical reason why. Over the years, we’ve met people with such tragic stories that it leaves one speechless. The idea of trying to pull together some words of comfort, seems impossible.
Isaiah’s vision 26+ centuries ago, remains true today. It’s true that we’re like grass: our ‘glory’ is like the flowers of the fields – here today and gone tomorrow. [v6-8] It’s true that we don’t know the mind of our Maker, nor can we counsel Him with our instruction. [v13] But this is only half the story! Because the Creator is who He is, He knows exactly who we are. Our Creator speaks tenderly and takes no pleasure in our pain. [v1-2] Like a shepherd, He gathers His lambs in His arms, carrying us close to His heart, and gently leading those with young. [v11] So, whatever we’ve already been through, or whatever we face today, tomorrow, or next year, our comfort is in who He is, what He has already done for us, and what He’s still doing everyday for His beloved…
