16 March: Revealing Hidden Things

Some people may wonder if the Creator God is playing games with humanity. If so, He’s not playing “Hide and Seek”. He’s playing “Seek and Find”…

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

While enjoying a restful Sunday afternoon, Mark flicked onto a BBC documentary looking at the Theory of Inflation. At the Amundsen-Scott South Pole station, astronomer John Covach is searching for exceedingly faint signals, invisible disturbances, in the fabric of space. If found, it could explain the complete mystery in the Big Bang Theory – the place where there’s no evidence at all – the place where time equals zero.

What if the Answer is Before Your Eyes?

For the first time in history, Jesus, in today’s chapter, taught humans about the Kingdom of Heaven – the place where time equals zero. Unlike anyone in history, Jesus used simple parables that anyone could understand to reveal things that have been hidden since the creation of the world. [v35]  But unlike today’s scientists, in every example that Jesus used, He was forward thinking.

HIStory has never been about revealing hidden things in creation’s past. Nor is it about finding that one elusive, impersonal pulse deep in space. It’s about seeking and finding the hidden things that Father God has revealed concerning humanity’s future. [v40-43; v47-50]  The only question left for me today is: How am I responding to the hidden things that He’s already revealed. [v44-46]

THE LORD’S PRAYER:

   1.   Praise: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. Your Kingdom come! Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven …”

May I be among those who ascribe to You, Lord, glory and strength! Ascribing to You the glory due to Your Name. Let me bring an offering to You, Lord, when I come into Your courts with praise. [Psalm 96:7-8]

   2.   Ask: “…Give us today our daily bread…”

In answer to prayer, You’ll lay bare Your holy arm in the sight of all the nations, O God, and all the ends of the earth will see Your salvation. [Isaiah 52:10]

   3.   Admit: “…Forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us…”

Help me not to merely listen to Your word, Father God, and so deceive myself. Help me do what it says. [James 1:22]

   4.   Protect: “…Lead us not into temptation but delivers us from evil.”

I want to listen carefully to what You say, Lord. I’ll not be afraid or discouraged because of the vastness of what I face. For the battle is not mine, but God’s. [2 Chronicles 20:15]

“For Yours Lord is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory now and forever. Amen!”

When Jesus was questioned, tested, tricked or in His hour of great need, He always spoke things that were previously written in God’s Word.[c]  Following these memory verses from ten topics, will help you learn 52 verses from the bible in a year! THIS WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE: Giving God’s Good News
